The supply chain specialist will be responsible for Managing Tinsley Critical Suppliers. Will prepare purchase orders and bid requests, maintain data information systems and historical references identify manufacturing needs, arrange materials delivery, identify and qualify vendors.
Responsibilities
Will procure materials and services to support manufacturing and program management build requirements.
Work closely with suppliers and staff members on material specifications, delivery and cost.
Support Tinsley Quality system for procedure updates, new supplier qualification and annual supplier renewal - supplier assessments.
Support import / export compliance, work with brokers to insure delivery.
Provide daily Purchase Order management in Deltek GCS
Monitor and Manage the Shop Supply re-order point system adding new items to the system, cross referencing vendors, cost, lead-time and calculating re-order points based on usage and lead time.
Contribute to continuous process improvements for ISO compliance and develop Best Purchasing Practices and procedures.
Assess open order or potential order for Risk management and provide a monthly executive summary.
Monitor delivery schedules and implement aging Purchasing Order report.
Interface with Production Control Manager and Project Managers to discuss material shortages and customer commitments. Ensure clear and consistent communication between departments.
Manage Purchasing filing system, logging receivers and closing of Purchase Orders.
Assist in approving Purchasing requisitions based on designated signature levels.
Work with IOS Accounting to resolve Accounts Payable issues.
Manage Return to Vendor and Return Material Authorization Process.
Qualifications
Requirements
BS/BA or equivalent experience and minimum three years purchasing experience in a manufacturing operations. APICS membership and/or Certified Purchasing Manager status preferred. Skills with MS-Office, Access, Excel required knowledge of Deltek purchasing module ideal. Requires knowledge of domestic and international purchasing and shipping methods and procedures. Must have excellent analytical, planning and negotiating skills maintain critical vendor relationships and develop new suppliers be able to work effectively across the organization and demonstrate excellent communications skills.
