Patient care is guided by the CNS. The CNS serves as a change agent within the health system. This component of the CNS role includes various indirect clinical activities that serve to improve the overall quality of patient care. Examples of these duties may include the following: provide educational resources and consultation to the health care team, develop clinical polices and procedures, facilitate multi-disciplinary communication, implement and support administrative goals and objectives. In this role, a minimum of 0.5 FTE is spent fulfilling these job responsibilities.Current CA RN license, BLS, ACLS, MAB/CPI. Current CA CNS certification. Master’s degree in Nursing. Minimum of 3 years clinical experience in ICU/CCU required. Professional membership in area of practice desired. Maintenance of yearly competency evaluation and skills class attendance.
