Individual will be focusing on designing, maintaining, assessing, and remediating secure network and application infrastructure in a mixed OS environment. Adjusted work week including evenings and weekends, and ?on-call participation may be required. Candidate will report to Security Manager or Team Lead.Skills & Experience:Required Skills:? 2+ years demonstrated experience in some of the following security areas: Firewalls, IDS/IPS, Email Security, System OS Security, Remote Access Security, DNS Security, Wireless Security, web filter security, or router and switching security.? 1+ years of experience using packet capture applications, like tcpdump, to analyze network traffic to resolve security related issues.? 2+ years of experience in government infrastructure environment.? Ability to function independently with minimal supervision and within a collaborative team environment. The candidate must be approachable, diplomatic and adaptable to a fast-paced, high-volume, deadline-oriented atmosphere. The candidate must be a team player with a positive ?can-do attitude who must be able to assist team members when required, with strong oral and written communication skills. The candidate must set aside time for proper documentation and project planning;Desired Skills:? In-depth knowledge of security disciplines is desired. This includes:o Securing Internet/web development, security best practices and methodologies, and equivalent strengths in security architecture controls on client/server and mid-range systems, firewalls, and industry technologies. Security common compliance standards, Security ISO 2700x, and GRC.? In-depth knowledge of the following:o TCP/IP protocols, IP Addressing, Network routing protocols, VLANs, IPSEC VPN, and normal operations of Active Directory, Windows OS, Unix, and AIX .? Periodically conduct network system security vulnerability/penetration analysis and risk assessments making recommendations to remedy the situation.? Analyze existing network environment including both Local Area Network and Wide Area Network and enhance security measures if needed.? Participate in the design and research of network, security, server farm, and infrastructure architecture changes to meet business needs.? Experience in the design and implementation of security systems, common services, governance, programs, administrative functions, an in-depth knowledge of information classification, forensics investigations, incident response and tracking, and risk management and assessment methodologies and programs;? Demonstrated experience implementing/deploying security initiatives that require partnership with other IT areas;? Implement and enforce security policies and procedures using industry standards.? Experience troubleshooting and resolving Network and Security related issues.? Experience with designing and implementing network security monitoring systems.? Experience with encryption technologies relating to email and storage.?
