The NNP performs physical exams, collects and documents data, conducts diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, orders and schedules laboratory studies, prescribes appropriate interventions and medication, coordinates the care and discharge of patients and provides direct patient care services. AGE SPECIFIC:Patient care employees must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to patients of all age groups–must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development through the life span, possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patient’s status, and interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient’s needs in relation to age and to provide the care needed as described in the department’s policies and procedures.Qualifications: Current CA RN license, BLS, ACLS, PALS. Master’s degree in Nursing. Completion of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program with certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner in CA. Certified Registered Nurse First Assist (CRNFA) preferred. Minimum 5 years experience as RN, with 3 years Critical Care. 1 year experience as Nurse Practitioner preferred. State of California prescriptive authority (DEA #) required.
