Top ranked and globally respected Mechanical, Electrical,  Plumbing MEP Engineering Consulting firm specializing in cost-effective, sustainable design of advanced technology, healthcare, institutional and commercial facilities worldwide actively seeks Project Level HVAC Mechanical Engineer to join our San Francisco, CA or Santa Clara, CA office.
This is a full time long term employment opportunity to join our team. Our passion is engineering green buildings that work. HVAC Mechanical Engineer  Project Level Qualifications  Experience Needed
Bachelors Degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering
Minimum of 7 to 10+ years of HVAC mechanical engineering industry experience pertaining to buildings  facilities.
Previous work experience within a consulting engineering or A/E firm as an HVAC Mechanical Engineer pertaining to Commercial, Institutional, Healthcare, Data Center, or Laboratory projects.
Licensed Professional Engineer, PE is a huge plus
LEED Accreditation is a plus
Knowledge of local building and mechanical codes
Affiliations ASHRAE, USGBC, etc. a plus
Effective written and verbal communication skills.
Computer background MS Office, AutoCAD, Revit a plus.
HVAC Mechanical Engineer Overall Role  Responsibilities
Collaborate with the lead Mechanical Engineer and execute assignments and assume ownership as the mechanical design engineer on a project.
Perform field verification tasks confirming as-built conditions and any code deficiencies.
Perform engineering calculations confirming load and service requirements based on Code and program requirements.
Prepare engineered plans either directly in CAD or with the assistance of a CAD draftsperson.
Assist in preparing project specifications in close coordination with the lead Mechanical Engineer.
Assist lead Mechanical Engineer in preparing Basis of Design and conceptual designs gathered from Clients program requirements.
Attendance at project meetings.
Review and approve equipment materials submittals and shop drawings and respond to contractor requests for information RFIs in a timely manner.
Collaborate with installing contractors on constructability of the proposed design. Prepare field and punch list reports of site findings.
