The Charge Nurse coordinates unit responsibilities, and supervises and assigns duties to unit staff. Reports directly to the Department Director.Position Summary:(Unit Specific)Under the direction of the Department Manager, provides leadership and supervision to Critical Care staff in accordance with professional standards and Dominican Santa Cruz Hospital policies and procedures.Educational Requirements:Required:* Specialty certification within 3 years of obtaining positionExperience Requirements:Required:* Excellent communication skills and demonstrated leadership abilities* Requires a minimum of one year experience in a leadership role (i.e., relief Charge Nurse).Preferred:* At least two years clinical experience within specialty area* Critical Care experienceLicense/Registration/Certification:* Current and active CA RN license* Current BLS certification* Unit specific certifications and qualifications (ex: PALS, ACLS, Chemotherapy)* ACLS certification within 6 months of hireDominican Hospital (a member of Dignity Health) is a 379-bed, dual-campus facility, which offers a wide range of services to residents of California
