Follows recipes and other production records to facilitate uninterrupted efficient operation of trayline, cafeteria and other service areas. Uses a variety of kitchen utensils and equipment, such as food processors, blenders, mixers, slicers, steamers and choppers, to prepare food items. May work on patient trayline or in cafeteria as needed. Follows ARA''s Standard of Operations for food handling and storage. Assists as directed to facilitate the flow of work in the operations of kitchen procedures and food and supply distribution. Maintains proper care, maintenance and sanitation of work areas, equipment and supplies. Alerts supervisor to problems or needs concerning equipment, food supply, sanitation and safety. Detects and reports spoiled or unattractive food or supplies. Maintains established department policies, procedures, objectives for quality assurance, safety and infection control.Selection CriteriaPrior food service experience a plus. Must be able to move quickly from one task to another independently. Must be able to communicate effectively with peers, staff and supervisor. Able to take instructions, comprehend and follow through. Ability to read, write, comprehend and follow written and oral instructions in EnglishMarian Regional Medical Center , located in Santa Maria, CA, is nationally ranked among the top 10% in the nation for safety core measures in Cardiac Services and has the only comprehensive Cancer treatment and resource program from Los Angeles to San Francisco. In April 2012, Marian opened its doors to a brand new state-of-the-art facility which houses the latest technology to support excellent physicians and caregivers who deliver compassionate care each and every day. Marian's new hospital includes 191 beds, expanded and enhanced Emergency Department, Critical Care Unit, NICU and women's services.Marian is a Dignity Health member of the Central Coast, which also includes Arroyo Grande Community Hospital in Arroyo Grande, CA and French Hospital Medical Center in San Luis Obispo, CA.
