Strong interpersonal skills to partner with senior Government Staff, operational and other personnel on environmental compliance issues.Coordinates with the Environmental Program Director and Environmental Media Managers, and serves as task lead to members of the GDIT Team. Some specific duties are to:?Provide task leadership to team and enable Government client to achieve program objectives.?Act as the Environmental Compliance Coordinator for Detachments Fallbrook and Corona. Interface with Detachment Directors on key environmental issues.?Manage the EMS Program to include updating the ISO 14001 Gap Analysis, preparing the Annual Environmental Quality Self-Assessment, supporting the development of the EMS Web and implementing a comprehensive EMS.?Evaluate the current EMS and recommend areas for improvement.?Prepare SSMP, SSO, FOG, SPCC, stormwater, Pollution Prevention, UST reports and Hazmat Inventory/Business Plan and other reports.?Perform routine inspections and sampling. (e.g., UST, AST, safety, Air; stormwater/drinking water).?Review requests for new hazardous materials for compliance with applicable environmental rules and regulations.?Support and attend routine and miscellaneous meetings. Serve as lead on some meetings.?Represent Detachment Fallbrook on the TMDL program for the Santa Margarita River.?Identify, coordinate, and execute proposed document revisions and recommendations.?Perform research and analysis to produce final recommendations as required.?Provide technical support and quality assurance functions.?Provide technical support to ensure industrial operations meet all applicable regulatory requirements. (e.g., legal and regulatory research, record search, on-scene assessments, data compilation and tabulation, equipment and product research, scope of work and cost estimate assistance.)?Accompany environmental staff to provide technical support during regulatory and Navy-internal inspections of the environmental program.?Support the environmental training and awareness program, as required.1.Bachelors Degree in Environmental Science, Engineering or a related technical discipline.
