The Food Operations Manager will be responsible for the administration of the food systems including menu writing, ordering, receiving, food production planning and records, labor scheduling and other duties associated with cost control. Main responsibility will be oversight of front and back of the house operations of the resident dining commons that has over 1600 boarding students. Also supports a restaurant and retail facilities and catering. Strong culinary experience and menu management experience preferred.The ideal candidate will have:- College/University, large corporate or hospital food service management in a large volume food production management environment.- Experience with food and labor management systems, on line ordering and inventory controls- Strong culinary knowledge and experience w/Batch Cooking, recipe and menu development including gluten free, vegan/vegetarian and specialty diet options.- Be a true “foodie” with attention to taste, presentation, plating.- Commitment to providing stellar customer service – even at “peak rush” times, attention to detail, ability to delegate.- Experience in mentoring and developing a staff, including scheduling and labor management of 50 + employees.- Have a commitment to sustainability.There isRELOCATIONassistance available for this position.Position Summary:Manages all contract management service operations at a single account/unit. Plans and directly supervises special functions. Maintains cash control and payroll records. Hires and trains unit personnel. Maintains customer satisfaction and good public relations.
