The position provides an opportunity to develop and advance the cutting-edge technology that supports some of our nations fundamental defense services. The selected candidate will work with collaborative teams to design and development the systems, processes and tools that support internal and client operations. Key Responsibilities The Mechanical Engineer will research, design, analyze, develop, test and field hardware associated with large scale antenna systems for ground, mobile, maritime, and airborne applications.Responsibilities include structural design and analysis, electronic packaging layout and design, thermal analysis, vibration analysis, and verification testing.In addition to mechanical design and analysis efforts, the engineer will be responsible for oversight and direction of associated design drafting personnel.The engineer will be responsible for mechanical oversight of subcontractors and suppliers, including specification and SOW development.The engineer will also be responsible for preparing site facilities interface specifications and for monitoring facilities design and construction as required to ensure specifications as achieved.Candidates must demonstrate a passion for innovation, a sophisticated understanding of systems engineering and analysis, and the ability to effectively develop and evolve GDAIS technology. The Advanced Mechanical Engineer position requires either a masters degree with a minimum of three to five years of related experience or a bachelors degree in a related specialized area or the equivalent and a minimum of five to eight years of related experience. Department of Defense Top Secret security clearance is preferred at time of hire. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.
