To direct Hotline users to utilize the Planned Parenthood Hotline Programs and Medical Centers. Bilingual Spanish required.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other essential and non-essential duties may be assigned.1. Operate Hotlines during assigned hours, following established protocols and providing excellent customer service. Answer calls, chats, and texts, providing information about Planned Parenthood services and reproductive health, including, but not limiting to:-Birth control methods, sexually transmitted infections (STIs), HIV, Abortion, male responsibility, and communicating about sexuality within the family.2. Differentiate between Health Education information and Medical questions. Providing appropriate referral to our Medical Centers.3. Be capable of handling sexually explicit questions/discussions, of which some may be inappropriate. 4. Notify team lead and/or Director of unusual callers and implement appropriate intervention policy.5. Research new information about reproductive health education topics and update Hotline training materials.6. Maintain community resource list and update as needed.7. Utilize caller information sheet and record data in database.8. Answer questions e-mailed during off-hours, within a pre-established time period.9. Assist Director with evaluating call data, make recommendations for program changes, as needed.10. Work with other Hotline staff, Director, and other team membersto determine marketing opportunities for the Hotline.11. Work with the Director to identify program opportunities and areas of improvement. 12. Ability to handle varied tasks simultaneously and work well under pressure.13. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.14. Other duties as assigned.OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES:1. Ability to deliver information on reproductive health, contraception, Sexually Transmitted Diseases, communicating within the family about sexuality and Planned Parenthood services.2. Ability to multi-task, and perform repetitive tasks.3. Ability to effectively present information to public groups, and/or boards of directors.4. Demonstrated ability to communicate with populations served by Planned Parenthood in English and in Spanish.5. Ability to sustain focused activities for a long period of time.This position will require the successful completion of a 3-month training program.
