The land department paralegal will be responsible for providing administrative support and coordination to either the acquisition and/or development groups in the Land Department. Under the direction of land management, this position will assist with preparing various key documents (especially legal writ in Land Packages), creating presentations, coordinating various land processes, and file management.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES:Prepare key documents that support various land processes such as Land Packages, CMAs, Entitlements, and the Market Strategy. Coordinate the retrieval of pertinent information to include in the documents. Assist with contract management for all ongoing and new land acquisition contracts or land projects under development. Provide administrative support with preparing presentations, data entry, spreadsheet generation, photocopying, report compilation, telephone coverage, scheduling meetings, and sorting mail.Maintain department files, particularly MUD files and disclosure documents, government permits, architectural designs, vendor contracts, and other documents to ensure audit readiness if needed. Assist with preparation of draft land purchase contracts, amendments, homebuyer settlement agreements, subcontracts and legal correspondence.Assist with reviewing title commitments and exception documents, review of surveys, and other due diligence materials in preparation for land committee. Work with land teams to coordinate and execute land closings. EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:• Associates Degree and/or Paralegal Certificate required. • Bachelor’s Degree preferred in a related field, preferably connected to Real Estate or Homebuilding industry.• 2+ years of transactional real estate paralegal experience required (residential or commercial)• Prior experience in the homebuilding industry preferredKnowledge, Skills & Abilities• Proficient in MSOffice suite: MSWord, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook (advanced level)• Proficient in computerized research – Westlaw, Nexus/Lexis, and others• Detail oriented, capable of handling heavy, multi- layered client and attorney contact, and be extremely responsive to tight turn around schedules for transactions in various stages of development.• Strong organizational skills; able to handle multiple deadlines and create functional systems for handling data• Action oriented, with the drive to push projects to successful closure• Strong ability to work within a team setting, inclusive of other’s ideas• Strong verbal and written communication, with the ability to take complex concepts and communicate succinctly and accuratelyFind out why KB Home is attracting and retaining the best employees!
