PURPOSE OF POSITIONReporting to the Controller, the Payroll Specialist is responsible for the preparation of the bi-weekly payroll and the associated journal entries and reporting.QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.* Ability to read and implement written instructions.* Ability to prioritize and manage numerous projects at once.* Must have a positive attitude, self-motivation and flexibility.* Ability to relate to diverse communities.* Ability to work independently and as a team member.* Must demonstrate accuracy and attention to detail and strong computer and accounting skills are essential. * Must have and maintain a professional appearance and attitude.* Good organizational, communications, and interpersonal skills are essential.* A reliable and flexible means of transportation is required.EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:* High school diploma or equivalent.* Three (3) years experience in accounting or related field required.* Minimum of three (3) years ADP payroll experience, preferably Payexpert and E-Time.* Perferably hospital experience processing employee shift differentials.* Comprehensive knowledge of payroll and benefit reporting and filing requirements.* Strong systems background required including but not limited to: Excel, Word, Great Plains and FRX reporting software a big plus.* Basic accounting knowledge and experience creating journal entries related to payroll, benefits, and related accruals.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESinclude the following:* Process bi-weekly payroll* Preparation of payroll journal entries and related accruals* Maintenance of Payexpert and Enterprise e-time data and records* Maintain Quarterly reports &ndash; Internal Revenue and State of CA quarterly payroll reporting* Maintain and analyze Earned Time Off, Workers Compensation and 403B spreadsheets* Maintain employee benefits and employee garnishments* Maintenance and distribution of W-2 forms* Preparation and distribution of labor reports.* Process reports utilizing ADP payroll reporting and Enterprise e-time.OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:* Performs other duties as may be assigned by the Controller.Requirements:Travel noneExpertise Accounting / FinancialEducation High SchoolJob Type Full TimeLocation CA - SouthYears of Experience 3-5 yearsPreferred Language English
