Assist the medical director as a liaison to community physicians and hospitals in Orange and San Bernardino Counties. To assist the medical director in overseeing high quality care to our patients throughout the affiliate.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:1. Adhere to agency’s policies, procedures and protocols. This may include successfully completing agency, regional and/or state certification requirements.2. Perform physical and gynecological examinations for female patients including review of medical history, screening for abnormalities, and performance and interpretation and/or ordering of laboratory tests.3. Perform genito-urinary exams of male patients in relation to testing and treatment of Sexually Transmitted Infections. (Would not include if physician is an Ob/Gyn)4. Provide contraceptives.5. Provide Abortion referral and counseling as well as medical and surgical abortion services.6. Provide medical consultation to clinicians regarding the clinical management of specific patients.7. Provide telephone consultation to clinicians on evenings and weekends.8. Document patient data accurately and completely in the medical record.9. Evaluate and treat medical problems, ensuring follow-up and appropriate referrals as necessary.10. Educate and counsel patients in reproductive health issues.11. Participate in a team approach to patient care and deliver care in a professional, confidential and expeditious manner.12. Manage emergency situations as they arise in the health center, and consult with Medical Director as necessary.13. Orient new clinicians as requested.14. Participate in a regularly scheduled peer review process, as required.15. Attend medical meetings, as required.16. Meet productivity goals of the center.OTHER DUTIES:1. Assists the Medical Director in the development of PPOSBC medical policies and protocols.2. Assist the Medical Director in overseeing the pharmaceutical, laboratory and mid-level supervision processes of the affiliate.3. Perform other duties as may be assigned by the Medical Director.OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES:1. Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) are required.2. Ability to physically assist a patient in distress.3. Bilingual skills a plus.4. Proficiency with computers and typing skills.5.
