The successful candidate will be responsible for
designing and developing complex
electro/mechanical assemblies and electronics
packaging used on agricultural based vehicles.
Primary responsibilities include
- Working independently, develops and design
complicated products consisting of packaging
electronics and enclosure design. This includes
sheet metal, Plastic injection molding, Metal die
casting, machining of precision parts and
paint/plating process.
- Will be responsible for Design Verification
Testing of their products and able to achieve
solutions to design problems.
- Create cable drawings as required and support
any necessary PCB design efforts.
- Create all necessary assembly drawings and
B.O.M.s. This includes determining correct
assembly procedures as well as all related details
including torque and adhesive best practices.
- Work with outside fabrication houses to obtain
proto and production parts.
- Interface with outside contract manufactures and
be responsible for taking projects into
production.
- Work with other groups within Trimble to
purchase parts and obtain all required part
certifications.
- Assemble prototype units and provide guidance or
direct support for testing and evaluation.
Position Requirements
Must have
- BSME or equivalent experience with 8+ years
designing piece part and complicated assemblies
with an emphasis on electro/mechanical packaging.
- Must be expert in Pro-E Wildfire 4.0 Surfacing,
Sheet metal and Advanced Assembly modules.
- Excellent problem solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication
skills.
- Must be extremely self-motivated and able to
work to tight schedules.
- Ability to create, track and communicate project
schedules.
- Working knowledge of PCB exchange process
Wildfire EMN export is a plus.
- Working knowledge of Agile PLM software is a
plus can be trained.
- Microsoft Word and Excel are required.
Not required but very desirable
- Industrial design skills are strongly desirable.
- Finite Analysis of mechanical structures a plus.
- Experience with Adobe Illustrator is a plus.
- Good working knowledge of mechanical and
environmental testing such as vibration, thermal
and HALT testing.
- Working knowledge of Mechanical Failure Analysis
methods and techniques a plus.
- Basic understanding of electrical engineering
design concerns EMIC mitigation, Electrical
safety, grounding, PCBA 3-D tolerancing,
electronic component selection, assembly
techniques, thermal management is a significant
plus.
