The Training Specialist will need effective communication and technical skills to inspire surgeons and expand the utilization of the da Vinci Surgical System. In addition, the Training Specialist will be actively involved in the continuous improvement of training programs and provide support for customer training and sales initiatives. This position is a developmental opportunity for those interested in a career in Medical Device Training or Sales. There is a minimum expectation of 18 - 24 months in this role to be eligible for transition into a field sales opportunity.Roles and ResponsibilitiesThis position has responsibility and authority for:* Conduct da Vinci Surgical System training programs for surgical teams at a designated Training Center and remote centers as needed* Sell active da Vinci surgeons on the concept of developing procedure and advanced training programs* Train sales force on new products and advanced system skills* Occasional support of da Vinci procedures in a hospital operating room* Work with Training team in a creative, dependable, and flexible manner to improve existing training programs, including updates of training materials and protocols* Manage relationships of training center personnel and management* Da Vinci Surgical System troubleshooting and maintenance* Manage training center logistics, inventory, calendar and quarterly goals* Develop competency in the following:* Technical system expertise (system set up, docking, and use of instruments and accessories)* Clinical knowledge in all surgical specialties* Explaining the value proposition of the da Vinci Surgical System* OR Efficiency* Clinical Pathway processQualifications:Competency RequirementsCompetency is based on: education, training, skills and experience. In order to adequately perform the responsibilities of this position the individual must:* Minimum of 1-2 years sales experience in pharmaceutical or business to business sales* Experience with surgery or medical industry preferred (Clinical Sales or Support)* Bachelor''s degree required or equivalent clinical / medical degree* Effective communication and interpersonal skills, both verbally and written* High capacity and excellent problem solving skills* Solid organizational skills and ability to operate independently* Professional work ethic and is ambitious, intelligent, and creative* Flexibility and willingness to relocate for potential transition opportunities within field sales* Ability to travel up to 30%City: San DiegoJob: Training / Education
