You will work with a team of developers advancing our ed2go e-Learning platform using Microsoft .NET and SQL Server technology. Visithttp://www.ed2go.com/to learn more about what we do.Essential Duties/Responsibilities:• Create and maintain highly-optimized stored procedures• Continually improve and transform data structures and indexes• Design and document database schema and organization• Prepare and deploy schema update and ETL scripts• Update and maintain database projects under source control• Generate reports and troubleshoot database issues• Support C#/ASP.NET Web application development• Work with DBAs to maintain database server performance• Follow and contribute to team standards and utilize industry best practices• Generate technical specifications based on functional requirements• Provide expertise to organization across various database platformsBasic Skills/Knowledge/Experience:• 4-year degree• In lieu of a 4 year degree, must have completed some college and have at least 4 years of relevant work experience• A minimum of 1 year database development experience• Proficiency in T-SQL (2005 or later) including the ability to create and change tables, complete complex selects and joins, create stored procedure creation and maintenance, creation and maintenance of views, normalization, SQL optimization and refactoring among other things.• Proficiency in SQL Server Management Studio (2005 or later), including, database object management and the familiarity with SQLprofiler and optimization tools• Experience with a database design tool such as Visio• Schema design and ERDs• Some reporting tool experience (SSRS, Crystal Reports, Microsoft Access or other)• Proficient with version control system (TFS, Subversion or other)Preferred Skills/Knowledge/Experience:• 4-year degree in computer-related field• 5 years T-SQL experience• Experience with SQL Server 2008• SSRS, SSIS and/or SSAS/Data Warehousing• Full Text Search Indexing• Team Foundation Server experience• Microsoft Database Projects (Visual Studio 2008)• High-Volume Transaction Processing• ETL• XML• DBA experience, such as, database backup and restore, data file management and performance tuning, scheduling and monitoring of maintenance tasks• T-logs• PostgreSQL• Red Gate tools• Table Partitioning• ASP.NET/C#• Iterative or Agile Development• OOP#indeed1Cengage Learning is an equal opportunity employer, committed to attracting and retaining a talented and diverse workforce.
