Alcoa serves the aerospace, automotive, packaging, building and construction, commercial transportation, and industrial markets, bringing design, engineering, production, and other capabilities of Alcoa''s businesses as a single solution to customers.Reports directly to Torrance Human Resources Manager.Essential Functions:* Must be knowledgeable in all areas of Human Resources including, client relations, coaching and facilitation, conflict mediation, performance management, employee development, risk mitigation, regulatory compliance, California employment laws, HR policies and procedures, FMLA/CFRA, AAP/EEO, recruitment, compensation, and benefits.* Strong emphasis in employee relations.* Interprets, communicates and consistently applies HR policies and procedures.* Partners with Managers and Supervisors to effectively address and resolve employee issues.* Investigates charges of alleged discrimination and ethics violations; recommends and implements appropriate corrective action.* Listens to employee concerns.* Provides feedback to functional managers and remains engaged in resolving issues.* Maintains strict confidentiality of sensitive information, able to work under pressure in a fast paced environment, able to prioritize and multi-task, and work extended hours as necessary to accommodate workforce schedules.* Highly organized; detail oriented; accurate; follow-thru from development to execution of projects and tasks.* Supports departmental and company-wide initiatives.* Able to speak effectively before groups including all levels of management and employees.* Participates in the development and preparation of weekly and monthly reports; maintain employee and investigation files.* Enters/updates data in Human Resources Information Systems.Basic Qualifications Must have:* Bachelor''s Degree with 5-7years experience.* Excellent written and oral communications skills.* Excellent interpersonal skills.* Excellent working knowledge and skills in MS Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Microsoft Access and Oracle HRIS.* Strong Employee Relations Aptitude Required.* Employee relations; Risk Mitigation; Recruitment; Administration of Alcoa Foundation & Community Service Programs; ASAT/SOX Compliance; HR Shared Monthly Reports; HRIS (Oracle).* Will be integrated into additional activities including but not limited to: Compensation, Benefits, FMLA/CRFA, EEO/AAP Compliance and reporting, GVS, Performance Management, Employee Rewards and Recognition, Training and Employee Development.* Work schedule start time will provide consistent / overlap to support second shift.Preferred Qualifications * Previous Manufacturing/Aerospace environment preferred.* Previous supervisory experience desired.* Bi-lingual a plus.
