Top performers deserve top pay-If You have the Drive, We have the Vehicle.Job Summary:The Service Technician is responsible for performing vehicle repair and maintenance as assigned in accordance with dealer and factory standards.Job Responsibilities:o Perform work as outlined on repair order with efficiency and accuracy, in accordance with dealership and factory standardso Communicate with parts department to obtain needed parts, inform team leader if vehicle is awaiting parts and pursue special order of parts if necessaryo Diagnose cause of any malfunction and perform repair, if authorized by customero Save and tag parts if the job is under warranty or if requested by customero Examine the vehicle to determine if additional safety or service work is requiredo Notify service consultants immediately if additional work is needed, if work outlined is not needed, or if repairs can not be completed within the time promisedo Document work performed on each vehicle on the repair order using the concern, cause and correction formato Road-test vehicles to check work performedo Ensure that customer vehicles are returned to them as clean as they were prior to being servicedo Keep abreast of factory technical bulletinso Attend factory sponsored training classeso Keep shop area neat clean and be able to account for all dealership owned tools at all timeso Understand and follow federal, state and locate regulations, such as those governing the disposal of hazardous wasteo Demonstrates behaviors consistent with the company''s vision, mission and values in all interactions with customers, co-workers and supplierso Adheres to all company policies, procedures and safety standardso Follow company safety procedures to avoid exposure to fumes, dirt and harsh chemicalsRequired ExperienceQualifications:o Must meet company''s requirements for employmento Ability to read and comprehend written instructions and informationo General mechanical skillso Must have a valid driver''s licenseo Ability to drive manual transmission vehicleso Professional appearanceo Manual dexterity, good judgment and ability to operate power and hand tools and other types of machinery safelyo Three years of work experience as a service technician (preferred)o Demonstrated customer service skillso ASE certification (preferred)Physical Requirements & Working Conditions:o Exposure to inclement weathero Ability to operate an automobileo Prolonged periods of standing, stooping and bendingo Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently and/or greater then 10 pounds of force constantly to move objectso Requires walking or standing to a significant degree, or requires sitting most of the time but entails pushing and or pulling of arm or leg controls, or requires working at a production rate pace entailing the constant pushing and /or pulling of materialsRequired Educationo High school diploma or equivalento Must have technical aptitude displayed by ASE certification or successful completion of pre-employment testo Technical or trade school degree preferredCompensationAt AutoNation you''ll find unlimited income potential, paid time off, training, longevity bonuses, 401(k) program - with company match, health, dental, life, and disability insurance, employee vehicle purchase program and fantastic advancement opportunities.Comme
