Please take this opportunity to learn about Genentech, where we believe that our employees are our most important asset and are dedicated to remaining a great place to work.The PositionThe Clinical Pharmacology Department at Genentech, Inc. is seeking a Ph.D. level Associate Scientist who is driven to use quantitative approaches to understand the Clinical Pharmacokinetics and Pharmacodynamics of novel drug candidates. This individual will be responsible for the development and implementation of the Modeling and Simulation strategy that is aligned with project needs in order to ensure that the right drug is administered to the right patient at the right dose and regimen. The modeling and simulation activities include developing a strategic and tactical modeling and simulation plan for project that includes population PK/PD models, translational models, physiologically based models, disease models, exposure-response models, biomarker-efficacy models, clinical trial simulations, and other state of the art modeling and simulation techniques. Key technical responsibilities are to organize, execute, and report modeling and simulation under minimal supervision, as well as to present work at cross-functional teams, department meetings, and conferences. Other responsibilities will include planning, writing, and reviewing relevant clinical documents such as study protocols, analysis plans, reports, and regulatory documents. These will be accomplished by working in close partnership with other scientists in Clinical Pharmacology, Clinical Science, Biostatistics, and project teams.Who You AreCandidates should have demonstrated expertise in PK/PD, Pharmacometrics, and strong hands-on quantitative skills. Experience with NONMEM, SPLUS, R and/or other modeling and simulation software is preferred. The candidate must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to work independently and effectively on interdepartmental project teams. Relevant training and/or experience with drug development is highly desired. Prior clinical experience on small molecules or in oncology area is a plus. A Ph.D. in PK/PD, Pharmacometrics, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Biomedical Engineering, Biostatistics or related discipline with 0-5 years of industry and/or related post-doctoral Modeling and Simulation experience is required. *LI-EK1
