Please take this opportunity to learn about Genentech, where we believe that our employees are our most important asset and are dedicated to remaining a great place to work.The PositionFP&A Finance Manager, gRED Finance THE GROUP:Genentechs Research and Early Development (gRED) Finance Organization is comprised of about 25 finance professionals, organized in four main areas: Functional Finance (providing Finance support for each of the key functions in gRED), ESPC Finance (providing Finance support for all of the key molecule teams), Partnering Finance (providing Finance support for all licensing activity), and FP&A Finance (providing support to each of the aforementioned group for key financial processes, as well as supporting the gRED leadership team) JOB DESCRIPTION:Reporting to the Principal Manager FP&A, the gRED Finance Organization is seeking an experienced financial professional with the passion and enthusiasm to apply these skills to decision making in an R&D environment, interact with senior leadership and collaborating with cross-functional teams. The successful candidate will seek to improve the strategic insights from our key planning and reporting processes (BP, budget, etc.) and help manage the planning, reporting, and ad hoc analyses to support gRED leaders and their teams. This role will interface regularly with Basel-based Finance (FC, FM, FE) colleagues to ensure aligned, meaningful, forecasting, planning and reporting exercises are designed and executed in line with the global requirements.RESPONSIBILITIES:* Help coordinate planning processes, identify & resolve planning issues and act as co-process coordinator for all planning activities. Plan, inform key stakeholders, and execute the plan/schedule for routine processes including month-end close, forecasting and budgeting.* Manage annual BP process and submission for gRED, including coordination of planning meetings, system requirements, submission of R&D models, and key strategic drivers * Demonstrate leadership qualities in managing and deliver Forecasts / Budgets that enable senior management and leadership teams to make informative decisions through scenario planning and R&D modeling* Understand gRED business performance and leverage technical financial knowledge and available data to recommend decision frameworks and business insights.* Interact with Key stakeholders & customers in gRED Finance, Portfolio Planning, Project Management, and gRED, as needed* Actively engaging and collaborating with all gRED Finance team members and the Financial Planning Systems team to ensure all team members understand overall process, deliverables & deadlines. Anticipate upcoming challenges from team members & come up with a plan (if possible)* Actively participate in preparing PowerPoint presentations and anticipating key issues / questions by management and customers* In addition to the core responsibilities, the role will be leading a number of special projects.
