Please take this opportunity to learn about Genentech, where we believe that our employees are our most important asset and are dedicated to remaining a great place to work.The PositionGenentech is seeking a Medical Director or Senior Medical Director level with Infectious Disease or Neurology experiences to join the Genentech Research and Early Development (gRED) organization. The Medical Director will lead clinical strategy teams to translate Genentech&#39;s basic science discoveries into patient benefit in Infectious Disease and CNS. The Medical Director will have the opportunity to design clinical development programs that span first in human studies through to studies in proof of concept, typically up through Phase II studies. The Medical Director will lead multi-disciplinary development teams that are responsible for the design, implementation, monitoring, analysis, and reporting of studies conducted within one or more clinical programs. They will also participate in developing the long-range strategic clinical development plans for these programs. The Medical Director will act as a clinical representative to cross-functional Core Teams involved in the progression of pipeline therapies through Development.  This work may also require successful collaborative relationships with Development Partners external to Genentech and other Development Teams within Genentech. Other responsibilities will include productive collaboration with Research Immunology Scientists, Research Diagnostics group and assessment of In-Licensing opportunities with Business DevelopmentWho You AreMD (or non-US equivalent) or MD/ PhD, preferably board certified and with training in Infectious Diseases or Neurology. Industry experience strongly preferred. The candidate must demonstrate ability to evaluate, interpret and present complex scientific data. Experience in designing and conducting clinical trials with biomarkers and/or diagnostics is highly desirable. Candidate should successfully establish peer relationships in a matrix organization, and be able to interact effectively with external investigators and corporate partners as a team leader. Excellent presentation and communication skills are a requirement
