Attorney to prepare, file and prosecute patent applications, with a primary focus on small molecule pharmaceuticals, maintain a substantial and active prosecution docket of U.S. and foreign patent applications, support business development clients and transactions through diligence and agreement work (MTAs, CDAs, research collaborations, licensing agreements, etc.), conduct IP diligence including freedom-to-operate, infringement and validity analyses, provide support on post-grant and inter-partes issues including regulatory and ANDA issues as they may arise, manage external relationships with outside counsel and collaborators, interact closely with global affiliates and provide guidance on patent law issues to business groups and scientists. Who You Are* J.D., admitted to the Bar of at least one state and registered to practice before the U.S.P.T.O.* About 5 years or more of experience in active small molecule patent drafting and prosecution, with law firm and in-house experience preferred* Agreement and transactional experience required* An advanced degree in chemistry is required, with an emphasis on organic or medicinal chemistry and a Ph.D. preferred* Strong verbal and written communication skills
