The purpose of this role is to administer strategic priorities of the Genentech records management program to align and comply with the Genentech Records Management Policy and Roche Global Records Management Directive. The successful candidate will analyze gaps, implement, and monitor systems and programs to improve records management throughout the enterprise.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:1. Administer strategic priorities of the Genentech records management program to align and comply with the Genentech and Roche Records Management policies. Conduct forecasting and identify records management industry trends, such as emerging technologies that impact records management (e.g., cloud computing).2. Analyze gaps in the records program. Utilize continuous process methodology to implement program improvements.3. Develop the audit program to identify compliance gaps and prepare reports for management. Establish and monitor key performance indicators and metrics. Perform audits, compile results, and make reports to management. Coordinate with Roche group auditors.4. Manage all aspects of the off-site records storage program including budgeting, supervising coordinators, vendor relationships, contract management, records processes for mergers and acquisitions, certified destruction of records from storage, compliance with the records retention schedule, educating end-users, establishing procedures.5. Evaluate, drive implementation, and manage as appropriate various records systems (e.g., email archiving, enterprise tool for pdfA conversion, records retention schedule, offsite storage, eSignature) utilizing project management skills in conjunction with IT.6. Coordinate with IT to address records lifecycle management requirements in information management systems and to ensure compliance with system governance standards (e.g., Roche Standard for Management of Electronic Records).7. Refine procedures for considering records concerns during system decommission process.8. Maintain the Genentech and Roche U.S.A. retention schedule, including citation history, modifications, and system used to display the schedule to users.9. Improve the vital records program to support disaster preparedness.10. Devise and implement the plan for electronic records management.11. Coordinate with COREMAP and Records Management Coordinators at Genentech and other US Roche sites.Who You AreREQUIREMENTS (education, knowledge, experience, communication / organization skills, etc.):1. Master's degree required (Bachelor's degree considered) in related field and at least 12 years relevant experience with increasing responsibilities. More than 7 years pharmaceutical/ biotech experience desirable. CRM certification strongly recommended.2. Experience working in cross-cultural environments is beneficial3. Extens
