Please take this opportunity to learn about Genentech, where we believe that our employees are our most important asset and are dedicated to remaining a great place to work.The PositionThe Department of Discovery Immunology is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Research Associate to support the discovery and development of small molecule therapeutics for autoimmune and inflammatory diseases. The successful candidate will develop, standardize, and automate primary immune cell based assays for structure-activity relationship testing, using state of the art technologies such as magnetic cell separation, FACS analysis, and MSD. This individual will also be responsible for consistent weekly or bi-weekly execution of fully developed assays, data analysis, curation, and upload to corporate databases. He/she will take advantage of the latest assay and automation technologies and strive to continuously optimize assays and workflow while ensuring data quality and consistency. This position also involves frequent interaction and communication with people with diverse educations and talents.Who You AreWe are seeking an individual with a masters degree in immune cell signaling and 6-8 years of additional experience in this field, ideally obtained while acquiring a Ph.D. The successful candidate has extensive experience with flow cytometry, multiplex immunoassays, immune cell isolation and primary lymphocyte and myeloid cell culture, and is highly skilled in general biochemistry and molecular biology techniques, such as western blot, gene transfer, quantitative RT-PCR. These skills are complemented by a demonstrated experience in assay development, optimization, and standardization, ideally obtained in an industrial setting. To be successful, this candidate must also have excellent quantitative and analytical skills, and must be able to handle computers and automation equipment with comfort and ease. Excellent communication skills and a solid command of the English language are also required. LI-KD1
