Responsibilities will include analytical characterization of recombinant proteins - primarily monoclonal antibodies - using techniques such as capillary electrophoresis (CE), high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC), and mass spectrometry (MS). Candidates having extensive development and troubleshooting experience using various CE techniques including capillary isoelectric focusing (CIEF), capillary sieving electrophoresis (CE-SDS), microchip electrophoresis (MCE) and/or automation will be preferred. The position will include development, optimization and validation of analytical methods to be used for characterization and/or quality control of therapeutic protein candidates. The candidate will provide analytical support to different functional groups in PTDU and active participate in project teams consisting of members from all areas of process development.Who You AreAn M.S. in Analytical Chemistry, Biochemistry, Chemical Engineering or a related discipline is required. Strong candidates with B.S. degrees having 5-10 years experience will also be considered. The candidate should have expertise on Capillary Electrophoresis, HPLC, and/or Mass Spectrometry as well as excellent analytical skills. Knowledge of analytical characterization of proteins and fundamentals of separation techniques is required. The candidate is expected to present data at internal group, department and/or other company meetings as well as various external meetings when appropriate. Finally, the candidate must be highly self-motivated, have excellent organization, oral and written communication skills and be willing to work independently and as a team member.
