The incumbent will lead a small laboratory groupfocusing on predictive and/or pharmacodynamic biomarker development efforts, aswell as lead and support Biomarker Subteams for programs in late stage clinicaldevelopment. A particular focus for this position will be to establish anddevelop a strong collaborative relationship with clinical scientists in latestage development.All of the Scientists in OBD are encouraged to develop afocus in one of several areas that advance our understanding of specific diseasesor enable advanced biomarker assessments through exploration of innovative,cutting-edge technologies. The successful candidate is expected to effectivelylead cross functional teams, to publish innovative biomarker or disease focusedresearch in high quality scientific, technical or medical journals, present toour key investigators and at meetings and promote collaborative efforts to pushbiomarker sciences forward. Scientists / Sr. Scientists in OBD are expected tobe, or develop into, externally recognized leaders in clinical translationalsciences.As a Scientist / Sr. Scientist, youare expected to:* Provideexceptional scientific leadership within OBD, particularly to groups otherfunctions in product development as well as to other functions, subteams /teams at Genentech / Roche* Provideexceptional scientific leadership for one or more Biomarker Subteams of oncologytherapeutics in late stage development or in life cycle management, to yourpeers within OBD and to the organization in general* Leadbiomarker strategies and plans at a single project level* Represent thebiomarker strategy and plan of an Oncology therapeutic to the late stageproject teams (GDT / LCT) and oncology biomarker review forum or decisioncommittee.* Lead anddrive biomarker related studies and collaborations as well as data analysis andinterpretation for an Oncology therapeutic project* Lead thebiomarker regulatory strategy and interaction for an Oncology therapeutic withhealth authorities around the globe and contribute to preparation of relevantregulatory documents* Develop andeffectively manage a small laboratory group, predominantly focused onscientific support for molecule programs* Drivescientific and technical innovation collaboratively with other members of theDepartment* Participatein, or lead, disease focused translational biomarker programs, or develop a keyfocus on novel technologies that advance clinical biomarker assessment* Publish inhigh quality scientific, technical or medical journals* Represent OBDexternally through presentations at key National / International meetings,interactions with our key investigators* Participateand thrive in an interactive, team oriented cultureWho You ArePhD, MD orPhD/MD degree
