Must have experience performing and documenting hazard, risk and requirements analyses. Candidate shall possess excellent written and verbal communication skills. Applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.DUTIES SPECIFIC TO THIS POSITION:Coordinate range safety activities, including FTS, Flight Safety and Ground Safety for assigned programs. Identify, analyze, and coordinate all aspects of, and ensure compliance with, various test range safety requirements. Prepare, maintain and submit FTS reports, Ground Safety Data (GSDP/MSPSP), Hazard Analysis Reports, and other required range safety documentation. Prepare and maintain qualification and acceptance databases for FTS, vehicle and GSE hazardous components. Support all flight termination component and system design and testing. Participate directly in Range/System Safety Working Groups. Function as LSG Safety Representative for field operations, identify and analyze hazards, prepare reports, and initiate implementation of safety in training, design, procurement, manufacturing, assembly, test, storage, and hazardous operations for LSG overall and assigned programs. Prepare and review LSG safety documentation, including system Safety Program Plans, PHLs, PHAs, SSHAs, SHAs, Safety Manual, Standards, and Procedures. Review results, initiate risk reduction, and coordinate safety improvements. Ensure payload and contractor compliance with contractual and Orbital safety requirements. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications:Ideal candidate shall possess a Bachelor of Science degree in a related field, or equivalent, plus a minimum of four (4) years of experience as an aerospace system or range safety engineer.
