This position is responsible for supervision of programs, hourly maintenance employees, procedures, and goals to ensure that plant personnel are safe, productive and effectively utilized. This individual will must be able to work effectively with other key areas of the facility as well as coach and develop others.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:* Planning, scheduling, documenting, and verifying all maintenance work to be performed (planned and unplanned).* Work closely with Operations to effectively maintain all plant processing, packaging and support equipment in proper running order, while meeting all government mandated criteria necessary to continue plant operations.* Managing environmental impact to meet or exceed governmental standards and company policies.* Working alongside Maintenance Mgr. in developing and implementing an energy program to prevent waste/reduce utility consumption.* Developing an effective parts management strategy.* Responsible for effective plant capital project budgeting and successful project execution.* Work closely with Operations to review and audit the preventive/predictive maintenance programs for assigned production and facility equipment to ensure a safe, efficient operation with a minimum of cost and downtime.* Broad base knowledge of electric motors, belt, chain and gear drives, hydraulic, pneumatic and HVAC systems.* Ability to effectively troubleshoot mechanical and electrical failures and implement repairs.Position Requirements* Technical/Engineering Degree *or* are currently enrolled.* 5+ years Engineering/Maintenance experience in a high volume production facility, preferably in food manufacturing.* Familiarity with FDA and GMP guidelines.* Experience in environmental and industrial processes, electrical and mechanical problem solving.* Strong knowledge of PLC programming and problem solving.* Working knowledge of computers, including Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).* Willingness to work varied shirts, including nights, weekends and holidays.* Must be self-directed and able to work without close supervision - position requires high energy and motivation and a strong desire to drive positive change.* Strong organizational, verbal and written communication skills.* Effective communication with diverse groups Strong leadership and team building skills.
