The Purchasing Specialist Senior (or agent) assists the business in executing contracts for low dollar low risk categories of spend. This include identifying appropriate templates, documenting requirements and scope with the line of business, and escalating any issues to the appropriate management team and contracts team members. Support provided includes (but not limited to); Purchase Orders, Blanket Orders, Ariba Contract Compliance, electronic Requests for Proposal, requests for quote, and reverse auctions, (collectively eRFx). Additionally the Category Lead / eRFx Specialist manages Vendor activity on a day-to-day basis for key categories under management by the Purchasing group (e.g. Office Supplies, Warehouse, business cards, etc.). The Purchasing Specialist will also manage and execute Reverse Auctions by consulting with the Sourcing Lead and/or the Business Line Management team to Identify projects, assist in developing requirements (scope, vendor list, baseline pricing, evaluation criteria, and timing), building and soliciting stakeholder approvals, managing the event (vendor and stakeholders), and provide analysis of results based on evaluation criteria.Major Responsibilities:30% Analysis: (a) Monitor and report spend compliance as appropriate and as requested; (b) Aware of market trends and product life-cycle, identify and communicate opportunities of alternative products and/or alternative sources. Advising personnel within the corporation on pricing, bid pricing, availability, identify end of life products providing substitutions by assessing available products and technologies solutions. (c) Provides support through proactive analysis and consulting to manage implementation of spend categories through the eProcurement tools.30% Source: (a) Support Strategic Sourcing by Supporting eRFX and reverse auction expertise as a service to Strategic Sourcing Events. (b) Evaluate vendor capabilities and establish sources for new technologies and new markets dictated by business requirements.
