You will find Travelers to be full of energy, and a workplace in which you truly can make a difference.JOB DESCRIPTION:Travelers is looking for a HPR/Property Specialist that has an extensive background with Property Protection across a broad spectrum of industries and insurance. We are looking for an individual that has HPR/Large Property Protection training, 8-10 years of experience and has the ability to evaluate Automatic Protection, as well as hazards and controls. The candidate should be able to; perform hydrant and fire pump flow tests, sketch sprinkler systems, do hydraulic calculations and automatic sprinkler plan reviews.SUMMARY:Property/HPR Field Specialist reports to Director, Property Specialist Technical Unit. Delivers Property specialty services to large assigned accounts. Provides Property technical training to Risk Control Consultants. Handles accounts on a national or multi-regional basis. Provides technical training to Risk Control generalists. Travel with overnight stays is anticipated and could be up to 30% of workload requirements.PRIMARY DUTIES:Survey applicant and insured facilities for fire, smoke, explosion, and other property loss potential. Locations surveyed are generally high value manufacturing and warehousing properties with complex exposures to loss, and require accurate exposure analysis and PML & likelihood of loss estimations.Witness tests and assess reliability & adequacy of fire protection equipment.Review plans for new construction, including hydraulically designed sprinkler systems, fire alarm and detection systems, fire pumps, chemical & gaseous agent fire protection installations, and combustion controls.Serve as a technical resource to Risk Control generalists and Account Executives (Underwriting).Consult with clients on ways to control hazards in order to reduce or prevent losses. Influence clients to implement recommendations.Assist in the writing of technical documents and bulletins for use by our Risk Control generalists, underwriting business partners, or customers and insureds.Provide property loss control training assistance to Risk Control staff in the form of workshop participation, co-surveys, and information transfer.COMMUNICATION SKILLS:Makes complex technical information and recommendations understandable and clear to audiences with varied levels of technical knowledge using both written and verbal communication skills.Influences others to take action on recommendationsListens effectivelyStrong oral and written communication skillsRESOURCE MANAGEMENT:Continually assesses workload in light of business priorities; directs own efforts accordingly.Identifies methods for improving personal
