This position is located at the Medical Service at the VA Medical Center, Grand Junction, Colorado. 

THERE WILL BE WEEKLY REFERRALS, UNTIL FILLED

Grand Junction VA Medical Center is seeking the appropriately qualified individual for a physician (Oncologist).  GRJVAMC is a full service hospital facility offering 24 hour ER and Inpatient services as well as active outpatient clinics.  GRJVAMC has received awards for implementation of the Primary Aligned Care Team (PACT) model.  There is a tradition of excellence in the Division of Medicine with providers performing at a high level of sophistication and fulfilling the needs of Veteran patients in a facility which has limited sub-specialty coverage.  Surgical services are well represented.  There is a large Community Living Center (CLC) and active Palliative Care and Hospice programs.  Tele-health and Tele-Medicine Programs have been best practices.  Pain Management is well organized.  The facility is looking forward to significant growth with a new Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation building about to begin construction.  A steady increase in Veteran patient population has been recognized consistently over the past several years.  Grand Junction is an exciting outdoors oriented community centered on the confluence of the Colorado and Gunnison Rivers and has the famous National Monument, Grand Mesa, and the Rocky Mountains at it's doorstep.  Skiing is essentially next door.  Colorado Mesa University is in town and is the second largest campus of the University of Colorado, providing both graduate and undergraduate programs. Music and the Arts are a prominent attribute of the University's presence.   Minor league baseball and many other sports activities are significant components of the city's culture as well. Grand Junction is currently the third fastest growing mid-level town in the United States.
