Western Area Power Administration - Serving the West with Federal Hydropower. We offer career opportunities in a fast-paced, dynamic electric utility industry. We market federally produced hydropower from more than 50 powerplants across the central and western United States and operate and maintain over 17,000 miles of high-voltage transmission lines. The Western Area Power Administration is one of four power marketing administrations within the Department of Energy .
