Organizational Statement



Enbridge Energy Company, Inc, a leader in crude and natural gas transportation, gathering, and processing, is currently seeking an Accounting Assistant Contractor for our Houston, TX office. This person will be responsible for the review and processing of vendor invoices and check request. They will assist in the development and enhancement of the accounts payable system, processes, and special projects. They are responsible for record retainage and proper accrual of use tax. This position has a high level of customer service.

Responsibilities



Researches vendor statements, phone calls and discrepancies.
Assists Field offices with invoice inquiries and payments.
Prepares invoices for payments.
Validates invoice approvals.
Works with Purchasing Department to solve problems with PO’s and Work Orders.
Inputs invoices into Oracle.
Accrues taxes and prepares tax deduction notices, as necessary.
Assists in monthly closings.
Prepares invoices for scanning on a rotating bases
Scans and validates scanned images on a rotating bases
Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications



Two year Associate Accounting degree or equivalent Accounts Payable experience.
Knowledge of accounting software
Two to five year’s related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Proven PC skills.
Superior analytical skills.
Capable of working with a broad range of individuals in a team environment.
Strong written and verbal skills, and proven people and organizational skills.
