The Congressional Research Service (CRS) Government and Finance Division is seeking an Analyst in Financial Accounting to focus on the analysis of U.S. financial institutions. The person selected for this position will support the U.S. Congress by conducting public policy analysis in the areas of banking, insurance, and securities.
-- If hired at the GS-13 level, you will be expected to provide objective public policy analysis and consultation to congressional committees, Members, and staff, including preparing objective, non-partisan, analytical studies and descriptive and background reports on public policy issues of national significance; providing personal consultation and assistance to congressional committees, Members, and staff on public policy issues throughout the legislative process; and participating in multi-disciplinary team research projects and seminars.
-- If hired at the GS-14 level, you will be expected to provide objective, expert public policy analysis and consultation to congressional committees, Members, and staff, including preparing objective, non-partisan, and innovative analytical studies on public policy issues of national or international significance; providing personal assistance as an expert on public policy issues throughout the legislative process, including analyzing, appraising, and evaluating legislative proposals; and plan and lead multidisciplinary team research projects and seminars.
CRS works exclusively for the United States Congress, providing policy and legal analysis to committees and Members of both the House and Senate, regardless of party affiliation. As a legislative branch agency within the Library of Congress, CRS has been a valued and respected resource on Capitol Hill for nearly a century.
