About the Agency
As Assistant General Counsel for Aviation Enforcement and Proceedings, you will be the principal attorney overseeing the Department’s aviation consumer protection and aviation economic investigative, regulatory, and compliance activities, as well as providing legal guidance and review with respect to all economic air carrier licensing and fitness matters. You will work on challenging and rewarding issues such as the civil rights of air travelers with disabilities and other protected groups; air fare advertising; on-time performance and code share disclosure; unrealistic scheduling; denied boarding compensation; tarmac delays; ticket refunds; baggage liability, and much more! You will provide legal and policy advice to our highest officials. When appropriate, we will expect your recommendations to include innovative approaches to substantive and procedural problems. Finally, you will represent the Department in conferences with Congressional members and staff, other departments and agencies of Federal, state, local, tribal, and foreign governments, international organizations, and public groups. Are you up to the challenge?
