About the Agency
This position is located in the Bureau of Economics of the Federal Trade Commission. The Bureau provides economic analysis and support to antitrust and consumer protection investigations and rulemakings, advises the Commission and other government entities about the impact of government regulation on competition, and analyzes economic phenomena in the nation’s economy as they relate to antitrust and consumer protection. The Deputy Director for Research and Management provides executive leadership and oversight of the Bureau’s economic research and analysis functions, as well as its planning, human capital, operational, and strategic management functions. The incumbent stays abreast of developments in the economics of industrial organization, the economics of information, and other relevant areas of economics to provide the Commission access to current economic expertise as it relates to Commission issues.
