This TERM position serves as a Physical Security Specialist at the National
Capital Region of the National Park Service. The incumbent provides program and
technical support to the Regional Physical Security Program. The Region manages
over 800 structures in 15 administrative units. The Regional Physical Security
Program supports over 500 fire and intrusion systems within the National Capital
Region and other National Park Service Regions. The incumbent is assigned to
the Ranger Services Division of the National Capital Region. The incumbent will
work closely with and in support of the United States Park Police Regional
Physical Security Specialist.
This position is designated as "critical sensitive". This position is
designated as an Emergency Position, which may require working during emergency
situations and overtime.
The position will be duty stationed at the National Capital Regional Headquarters Building located in Washington, DC
SPECIAL HIRING AUTHORIZES CONSIDERATION: Eligible under Special Appointment Authority; Individuals who are eligible for consideration under special hiring authority (i.e., 30% compensable veterans, severely handicapped individuals, former Peace Corps and VISTA volunteers, etc.) will be accepted and considered non-competitively for this vacancy.
This is a term position not to exceed 13 months with possible extensions up to a total of 4 years without further competition. Appointment to this position will not confer permanent status in the Federal service.
