About the Agency
The Visitor Services Specialist reports to the Visitor Services Office and the senior staff. The Visitor Services Specialist is the professional Library staff member who has direct, in-person contact with all levels of visitors, ensuring that the experiences of the visitors with the Library are appropriately arranged and conducted. The incumbent performs regularly scheduled public tours and private tours for special visitors and serves VIP, official, professional, special, and general visitors who come to the Library of Congress. At the senior level, the Visitor Services Specialist applies his/her knowledge of the mission, history, architecture, collections, programs, services, organization, and operations of the Library, the broad context in which the Library functions as the national library, and an extensive body of experience to the responsibilities of the position. The salary range indicated reflects the locality pay adjustments for the Washington, D.C., Metropolitan area.
The position is Indefinite NTE 5 years.
The incumbent of this position will work a Part time Intermittent Special work schedule.
