The Facilities Maintenance Technician ensures a reliable and safe working environment for Thomson Reuters employees, customers, and visitors. The Facilities Maintenance Technician is responsible for the repair, maintenance and installation of operational components per work orders and preventive maintenance schedules in the areas of: electrical, mechanical, plumbing, fire, life safety, lighting, HVAC and other areas as noted.<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />

Major Areas of Accountability:

* Operate, install, maintain, and/or repair mechanical, electrical, plumbing and fire/life safety protection equipment and/or systems throughout the facilities. 40%

* Monitor the status of and troubleshoot the facility equipment through the building automation system. Documenting and reporting issues through the BAS is essential to providing a safe and reliable facility. In addition, utilize the computerized (SAP) maintenance management system for work orders, to view equipment history, keep equipment data and task lists current, ensure proper completion of work orders and closeout. 10%

* Coordinate with and assist contractors during installation, service and/or troubleshooting of mechanical, electrical, fire protection, and building automation systems. Successful completion is dependent upon work that is performed in a safe, effective, and customer conscious manner. 10%

* Diagnose and repair electrical/electronic equipment used to operate the facility (motors, variable frequency drives, lighting, circuitry, etc). Utilize volt meter, amp meter, laptop computer, and other power equipment/tools to analyze and perform maintenance functions. Read and understand blueprints, layouts, and schematics of electrical and mechanical systems. 10%

* Provide preventative and predictive maintenance to heating, ventilation, air-conditioning, and refrigeration equipment (fans, vacuum pumps, air compressors, chillers, heat exchangers, etc). Perform plumbing system inspections and repairs as needed. Test and treat cooling system water supply in order to maintain specified chemistry. 10%

* Install, maintain, and fabricate facility equipment and structures. These duties require the setup and operation of lathes, grinders, drills, milling machines, cutting torch, welders (MIG, TIG, stick, gas) and other such tools. 5%

* Provide on-call coverage during non-working hours to answer questions and/or respond to emergency situations. This is accomplished via a company provided cell phone and laptop computer. 5%

* Perform all duties with required safety equipment and comply with all safety programs and training. 5%

Qualifications:


* High School diploma<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />
* EPA Certified Refrigeration license - Type 1, Universal license preferred
* Class 2-B Boiler Operators license, 1-B Boilers license preferred depending upon location.
* Welding certification
* Maintenance electricians license preferred
* Strong mechanical aptitude
* Strong Computer skills: Windows, Microsoft Office, email, internet, BAS, SAP
* Willingness and ability to work overtime and weekends
* Ability to work independently
* Ability to lift 50 pounds
* Proven discretionary judgment with ability to resolve both routine and non routine issues
* Proven communication skills and exceptional service attitude
* Ability to work in a team based environment with other facilities and technology professionals
