FLORIDA NATIONAL GUARD

NATIONAL GUARD MEMBERSHIP IS REQUIRED: This is an excepted position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the National Guard. Selectee will be required to wear the military uniform. Acceptance of an excepted position constitutes concurrence with these requirements as a condition of employment. Applicants who are not currently a member of the National Guard must be eligible for immediate membership and employment in the National Guard in the military grade listed in this announcement.

This position is located at 125th FW, Jacksonville, FL

AREA OF CONSIDERATION:  This position is in the Excepted Federal Civil Service "under the authority of 32 U.S.C. 709", and is open to Category 1 & 2 Only.  Category 1: All permanent/indefinite military technicians in the Florida National Guard; and Category 2: All current military members of the Florida National Guard.  First consideration will be given to Category 1.

 

INDEFINITE APPOINTMENT: This is an obligated position (current occupant is on a Military Tour).  If an individual employed in the excepted civil service accepts this position, he/she will receive an indefinite appointment.  If a Reduction-In-Force occurs and/or the military tour member reclaims this position, the indefinite appointee will have no reemployment rights to his/her former position or any other position.  If the military tour member, having reemployment rights to this position, does not exercise his/her rights within 5 years, this position may be converted to a permanent status without further competition.

 

INTRODUCTION:   This position is located in the Air National Guard, Mission Support Group, Mission Support Group, Logistics Readiness Squadron, Materiel Management Flight, in the Asset Management Section.  The primary purpose of this position is to carry out the complete warehousing operations relating to mobility assets to include providing management control, oversight, coordination, and implementation of the base Individual Protective Equipment, Airborne/Non-airborne Readiness Spares Packages, War Reserve Material, and Weapons programs and operations.
