The work involves trainee engineering duties as part of a formal work/study program with periods of pertinent formal education at the college level and periods of employment. Time will be spent assisting engineers of higher grade and in performing individually.

The Pathways Intern Employment Program was established in the excepted service and provide for planned, progressive education studies at an accredited institution. Position grade levels will be determined by academic achievement.Students may be considered for continuation in this program at the advanced degree level without additional competition.If a student continues into the advanced degree program conversion to a full-time employee may only be offered after completion of the advanced degree. This is NOT a guarantee of permanent employment. Students advance to higher grades as education is completed and approved by management. All interns that meet eligibility requirements will be referred to the manager based on hiring needs. This is not a Guarantee of Permanent employment.
