FLORIDA NATIONAL GUARD

NATIONAL GUARD MEMBERSHIP IS REQUIRED: This is an excepted position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the National Guard. Selectee will be required to wear the military uniform. Acceptance of an excepted position constitutes concurrence with these requirements as a condition of employment. Applicants who are not currently a member of the National Guard must be eligible for immediate membership and employment in the National Guard in the military grade listed in this announcement.

AREA OF CONSIDERATION: This position is in the Excepted Federal Civil Service "under the authority of 32 U.S.C. 709", and is open to Category 1: All permanent/indefinite military technicians in the Florida National Guard; Category 2: All current members of the Florida National Guard, both Army and Air and Category 3: All individuals who qualify for membership in the Florida Army or Florida Air National Guard but are not current members. First consideration will be given to Category 1.

INTRODUCTION: This position is located in an information management organization. The purpose of the position is to serve as the principle technical expert and project leader for information technology (IT) systems administration for the state. The systems administered involve multiple computers running multiple operating systems. The incumbent is responsible for the planning and coordinating the installation, testing, system security configuration and monitoring, operation, troubleshooting and maintenance of all server hardware and software.
