Food Preparation/ Service Worker

JOB SUMMARY:
<P>Essential Functions: Prep and cook including grilling and frying items in various food locations. Some food preparation and serving food on choice lines while dining area is opened. Set up, stock, clean and replenish the dining area during the time the dining area is opened, including some food preparation. Break down, clean, and store left over items from the dining area. Collect and document production records before,during and after service.</P>
<P>Marginal/Incidental Functions: Work as a team member in a diverse environment, encourage and promote diversity. Other related functions as assigned.</P>
<P>Required Qualifications: Experience following basic work instructions. Six months experience preparing and assisting in the preparation of food. Six month experience preparing food in a commercial establishment.</P>
<P>Preferred Qualifications: High School Diploma or GED. A minimum of one year experience in food preparation in a high volume unit serving 1000+ patrons per meal, preferably with the Division of Housing and Food Service, including receiving, stocking dry items and frozen merchandise. Experience in completing food production records. Demonstrate the ability to receive, respond, and follow through with written and oral University and Division of Housing and Food Service policies, procedures and work related instructions from supervisors, customers and co-workers. Demonstrate excellent interpersonal communication and customer service skills and a professional demeanor. Must have and maintain a current Serv Safe Certificate or a current Travis County Food Handlers Card.</P>
