JOB SUMMARY:
Job SummaryThe Food Service Director will provide leadership to Scott & White Memorial Food Services Department. The position has direct responsibility for producing high quality food to meet patient, staff, and customer needs at Memorial Hospital and satellite areas serviced by Memorial Hospital Food Service Department. This position will direct the department in a manner that is safe, sanitary and within budgetary guidelines and the overall operation of the McLane Dining Room and all other affiliated retail sites.Essential Functions* Establish operating procedures that assure a high quality Food Service Department that meets all regulatory compliance* Use the computerized management system that will address menus, recipes, nutritional analysis, purchasing, production, distribution, etc* Maintain catering services in a professional, reliable, consistent quality of service within reasonable budgetary guidelines * Maintain a Retail Dining Program at all venues that provides healthy alternatives and variety, value and excitement in the dining experience* Prepare and manage budgets to assure financial accountability* Ensure that food is prepared to meet the nutritional needs of all patients in compliance with the Scott & White Diet Manual* Establish menu programs to meet Scott & White Health System goals of Healthy Communities* Establish and audit protocols that assure safe food handling and sanitation* Inspect food and food preparation to maintain quality standards and sanitation regulations* Develop programs to build customer satisfaction* In collaboration with the Hospitality Services Department, establish Patient Satisfaction Strategies that ensure Press Ganey outcomes that meet and exceed Scott & White Healthcare Objectives* Maintain strong interdepartmental communications that result in engaged employees as evidenced by staff surveys* Provide a safe environment for customers and staff* Monitor procedures to ensure compliance with all regulatory agencies* Ensure that all employees complete orientation, Food Handlers and other training needed to give them the tools to maintain a safe work environment* Other duties as assignedKnowledge, Skills and Abilities* Ability to communicate (verbal and written) and develop relationships with professional staff, customers and support staff* Ability to prepare financial reports and business communications (email, letters, etc.)* Demonstrate computer skills in several software programs* Knowledge of personnel policies and demonstrate skills in coaching, mentoring, teaching, etc* Critical thinking and ability to solve problems in operational challenges and regulatory compliance* Management and leadership skills in leading a large and complex department* Demonstrate knowledge in departmental protocol and logistics required for management of food service* Maintain Serve Safe Certification and a Bell County Food Handlers Card
