Food Service Worker I
Performs routine food service work. Work involves preparing and serving food; cleaning equipment and work areas; maintaining inventories; and receiving and issuing food supplies. Prepares and serves modified and calculated diets as prescribed and follows established practices and procedures
Work is primarily assigned, supervised and evaluated by the Food Service Manager I. Other duties may be required
Frequently performing light to heavy lifting and carrying (15 to 45 lbs.), pulling, repeated bending, reaching above shoulders, grasping, walking, standing, sitting, twisting, kneeling, pushing, stooping, climbing stairs, operating mechanical and office equipment, ability to see, depth perception, hearing, writing, counting and reading. Work and environmental conditions that apply to this job include: complete work indoors; work in excessive heat, cold, humidity, and dampness. The ability to work in constant noise, solvents and electrical energy. Work on slippery/uneven walking surfaces, around moving parts, working with hands in water and working closely with others.
Essential Job Functions
Serve food: serves meals to residents according to menu and diet cards. Work on assembly line: works at all stations and follows established practices. Washes dishes/pots & pans/ utensils: cleans/sanitizes items following established practices. Assist with meal prep: completes assignments in preparation area under the direction of a Cook. Documentation: Accurately record information and events as required. Safety: Performs work tasks safely, reports/corrects safety hazards. State Property: Appropriately use, maintain, and/or protect agency property and property of individuals served by the agency. Training: Completes required training including defensive driving, client abuse/neglect reporting, etc. Policies & Procedures: Abide by all department and facility rules. Attendance: Report to work on time and when scheduled. Communication: Effectively communicates, verbally and in writing, with co-workers, supervisor and others. Conduct: Conducts self in a manner that affords optimal respect and dignity to individuals served, visitors, and all other persons. Initiative: Initiates activities that will improve the lives of persons served and working environment.

Ability to read, write and complete basic arithmetic computations used in cooking
Initial Screening Criteria
Food service experience and longevity in previous employment (employment history).

WORK SCHEDULE IS A ROTATING PATTERN OF DAYS OFF AND INCLUDES WORKING WEEKENDS AND HOLIDAYS
