<P>Job/Position Description
Food Service Worker I - The Food Service Worker I provides meal preparation, service and sanitation requirements for residents in Central Kitchen and Unit dining rooms. The Food Service Worker I is the backbone of the meal service team which ensures proper meal service and sanitation requirements for all residents. The Food Service Worker I works under the immediate supervision of the Cook III shift supervisor. Completion of work requires the use of established methods and/or techniques and decisions are varied but based on well-defined guidelines.



Essential Job Functions
Prepares food and beverage for meals. Loads/and prepares food carts for delivery of food to serving areas and sets up line for meal service. Follows diet cards and daily menus during meal service. Properly cleans, sanitizes and stores all items after meal is completed.


Registrations, Licensure Requirements or Certifications
Current Food Handler's Permit



Knowledge Skills Abilities
High school or GED is preferred with good reading and comprehension skills. Have basic knowledge of food preparation and proper food handling and sanitation of food service equipment.



Initial Screening Criteria
At least 6 months experince in Institutional or fast food service work is preferred. Work stability at previous jobs.
