Food Service Worker I (Part-Time)

WORK HOURS: VARIED FOUR-HOUR (4-HOUR) SHIFTS ON A ROTATING BASIS BETWEEN THE HOURS OF 5:00 AM AND 9:00 PM OR 3:00 PM - 7:00 PM.
The Food Service Worker I does routine entry level food service work on a designated full or part-time shift in the Central Kitchen and/or at a satellite area under the general supervision of the designated supervisor. Work involves preparing, portioning, distributing and serving food for regular and therapeutic diets; and, sanitation of equipment, work areas, dishes, utensils and pots and pans. Other duties may be required that are reasonably related to the essential or marginal functions of the positions. Maintains sufficient knowledge of duties and related work to satisfy the requirements of the job. Handles food in accordance with federal, state and HACCP guidelines. Follows safety procedures and practices for kitchen and food service work. Works under close supervision with limited latitude for the use of initiative and judgment. Must understand that duties, location of work and shift patterns are subject to change as determined to meet the needs of this facility. Must understand that the duties may include exposure to blood or other potential infectious materials. May work unusual or extended hours in the event of a disaster and/or operational necessity.
