<P>Job/Position Description
Food Service Worker II
The Food Service Worker II works a designated four (4) hour shift in the Central Kitchen and/or at a variety of satellite areas, under the general supervision of a Food Service Manager. Maintains sufficient knowledge of duties and related work to satisfy the requirements of the job and must be able to perform each essential and marginal function satisfactorily. Performs training and monitoring responsibilities of the FSW I to ensure the efficient performance of duties. They also performs routine food service work. Work involves preparing, portioning, distributing and serving food; and sanitation of equipment, work areas, dishes, utensils and pots and pans. Handles food in accordance with federal, state and HACCP guidelines. Follows safety procedures and practices for kitchen and food service work. Other duties may be required which are reasonably related to the essential or marginal functions of the positions.

Essential Job Functions
Attends work on a regular and predictable schedule in accordance with agency leave policy and performs other duties as assigned.
Trains the FSW I in preparing, serving and cleaning and their daily required duties. (30%)
Monitors the FSW I assignments to assure that all assignments follow the food service procedures (15%)
Assists in the preparation of the food and portioning of food for individual clients according to their special needs following the food service procedures. (10%)
Assists in service of food to clients according their special needs following the food service procedures. (10%)
Participates in distribution of food in a safe and sanitary manner according to the food service policies. (5%)
Follows proper food handling in accordance to federal, state and HACCP guidelines. (10%)
Follows the sanitation procedures for sanitation of dishes and food service equipment. (5%)
Follows the sanitation procedures for cleaning central kitchen areas and satellite areas. (5%)
Observes safety procedures and practices for kitchen and food service work. (5%)
Utilizes computer skills to efficiently complete job tasks. (5%)



Registrations, Licensure Requirements or Certifications

Knowledge Skills Abilities
Knowledge of methods of preparing and serving foods in large quantities.
Knowledge of therapeutic and texture modified diets.
Knowledge of training of food service personnel.
Knowledge of adaptive feeding devices.
Knowledge of common institutional food service equipment and tools.
Knowledge of food service sanitation techniques.
Knowledge of proper food handling techniques.
Ability to operate institutional kitchen appliances and equipment in a safe manner.
Ability to lift and move moderately heavy items (29 lbs.) as appropriate safely.
Ability to express oneself effectively and in a professional manner, communicating information clearly and effectively.
Ability to work effectively with food service staff, direct care staff, clients and others.
Ability to work independently.
Ability to work competently under pressure meeting deadlines.
Ability to read, write and follow oral and written instructions.
Ability to use computers or ability to learn to an acceptable level of competency.



Initial Screening Criteria
Knowledge of methods used in preparing and serving large quantities of food.
Knowledge of modified diets and experience with adaptive feeding devices and institutional kitchen equipment.
Knowledge of food storage and sanitation regulations.
