The Seasonal Recruitment Operations Center is currently accepting applications to fill up to one (1) temporary position at Cumberland Island National Seashore, Saint Marys, Georgia. Appointments made under this announcement are limited to 1039 hours (six months) in a service year and may be terminated at any time. Appointments under this announcement are eligible for rehire and/or extension (when initial appointment is less than 1039 hours) if workload and funding allow.  Individuals selected under this vacancy announcement are eligible for rehire in subsequent service years.  Anticipated Entry on Duty:  April 2014

Cumberland Island National Seashore is located on the southeast Georgia coast near the Georgia/Florida state line, approximately 45 minutes north of Jacksonville, Florida.  The park is 17.5 miles long and totals 36,415 acres of which 16,850 are marsh, mud flats, and tidal creeks. It is well known for its sea turtles, wild turkeys, feral horses, armadillos, abundant shore birds, dune fields, maritime forests, salt marshes, and historic structures. The area of St. Marys and Kingsland, Georgia have all essential amenities including post offices, grocery stores, banks, physicians, churches, a hospital, hotels and shopping plazas.  Access to the park is by boat only and travel to the work site may include rough water crossings and exposure to inclement weather conditions. Relative humidity is high.  Summer temperatures range between 80's and 100's.  Park housing may be available.
